Wow - beautiful place and great food. Yeah, it's a little drive out but it's nice to have a little time to unwind and see a little bit of Texas hill country on your way to dinner. On the weekends, it's crowded, but we had a reservation and were seated right away. Our waiter was friendly and efficient, and helped me pick out a great bottle of wine without spending a fortune. We had the crab stuffed mushrooms and we wanted to order more but were afraid we'd get full (good thinking!). I got the prime rib and she got this scallops and shrimp dish that was out of this world good. We ordered the creme brulee and it was sweet and crunchy and fantastic. My girl and I took a walk outside with a glass of wine after dinner and she loved all the roses and grapevines. We spent about $130 for everything, which is pretty good considering we got great wine and all that food. My girl saw the photo books of weddings they do and she was really impressed, so I may have to keep this one in mind....

Personal opinion here, but I think this place is a little overrated for the drive out PAST Garden Ridge. While it was voted best special occasion restaurant for SA, it is by no means in town.

The Vineyards is hands down the best restaurant in San Antonio. On our last visit I had the Filet of beef tenderloin and my wife had the seared Ahi Tuna -incredible!!! And our bill was half of what it would have been at Ruth's Chris. Keep it up

This is one of the most romantic intimate settings a restaurant can have! The beautiful real vineyards make for a quite awe inspiring setting any evening. The food is excellent & the staff does a great job of catering to your every need. Great date restaurant but make sure you make reservations!
