Response to Jakesbakes Comment Below

Posted by eyeta2 on 10/26/2009

I have never been to Isabelles, however am an esthetician and educator for Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, that regulates salons and spas. Jackesbakes' comment below states that bacteria cannot survive in wax. That's true, however it CAN survive on the edge of the wax pot. The law prohibits dipping the stick back into the wax, period. The law states that the technician must wear gloves on both hands. Surrounding area and wax pots must be clean. It is one thing to have a drip or 2 of wax on the pot that will be cleaned up at the end of the day, but you will be able to tell if that pot has not been cleaned for weeks or months. As I said, I have never been to Isabelles. Wherever you decide to go for waxing, use common sense and check them out prior to having the service.

Couldn't ask for better

My name is Mary and I am a current employee at Isabelle's. I had a client today that was telling me about the reviews she had read so of course, I had to get online and read them. Let me first say thank you to the people who have continued to support us especially through the hard times that have affected everyone. Our clients are family and it kills me to know that some people have disliked a few techs and services. Isabelle and I work hard to make sure that the girls are properly trained and are capable of educating clients and carrying on our ways. We are human though and make mistakes so I ask that if something should happen, please let us know so we can better assit you for a next visit. All techs have weekly cleaning chore sections that they have to attend to, to keep the spa clean and flowing. Isabelle's is a EUROPEAN DAY SPA. Not a resort spa. The look of the spa is to look european and inviting. If you have been to France or Germany, Isabelle's two homes, you would get a better feel for the look of the spa. Our downstairs stays active and busy because we have the most traffic coming in and out of there. However, we have clients coming in for facials all the time who we can't get out the door because they're too relaxed. Our upstairs, where we do massages, has a more "resort-like" and quiet feel to it. We do not have any employees that smell (lol) if we do, just let us know. We also use three separate waxes. One for the face only, one for arms, legs, back and shoulders, larger areas of the body, and one for brazilian and underarms. We don't use beaded wax, and our wax stays too warm and there's nothing for any type of virus or bacteria to sustain life in the wax. We throw away the wax after it's been used, thank you. It's very rare to find a work place where all the employees get along with each other, particulary all females. I feel blessed to have come across these people. John and Isabelle have been more than gracious to me, as well as other employees as their biggest goal is to create a harmonious and gentle atmosphere for employees and clients. I have worked for John and Isabelle for three years on October 30th and look forward to many more. 90% of the technicians there have worked there for two or more years now. We definetly have the best team. Thank you again to the faithful clients and the one's who gave us a chance and weren't discouraged by anything. It takes a lot to build up a trust for someone and rely on them to do a good job and give you what you want and deserve. I hope we do that for you. Thank you again and God Bless :D

Suer Friendly and extremely clean

I work for the Health Dept and honestly, they must lick the floors there. Its spotless. Their Estheticians have been with them for years and they are known for excellent service. I see Mary and Meagan for over four years now and Ive always gotten great service. the location is fabulous. No Traffic!! Isabelle is there constantly and frankly, she is is very sweet. Five Stars

stay away for your own safety!

I went to Isabelle's for a brazilian wax and will never go back again, and I encourage others to stay away for their own safety. As an esthetician myself, I have never seen so many sanitary violations in any spa I have ever been in. The room was a mess, not just cluttered with nick nacks and random products, but I could tell it hadn't even been dusted in months. My esthetician also used the same wax stick through the entire process, keep in mind body fluids are coming in contact with the stick that is being thrown back in a waxpot. Her technique was terrible and more painful than it should have been, she kept going over and over the same spots again, and again, and again. At the end of the wax, she filled her incredibly messy and disgusting waxpot with more hard wax beads, I assume to begin their melting process so they are ready for the next client, who will be recieving my body fluids that had been transfered through a single wax stick into a waxpot full of bacteria and pubic hair. Please, beware of Isabelles for your own health and safety.

I remember her too..........

Posted by BigLipLouie on 2/17/2009

She was the one that smelled kinda funny, right? Yeah I remember her. Big (**********). She's right though.........I was there when all those reviews that she said weren't written by real customers happened. It was mainly because those reviews, the one's she talked about never happened. really. I remember her scent and every one was asking about the time those other talents started to "show-up". She's right. Two of the five people that moved in from the other place came over and started doing that weirdddddd tin box joke. I was there I saw it. And it wasn't like everybody didnt know what was going on.........she didn't. Thats why she is so desperately trying to hurt Tim and his family. You can be glad that the word on the street is "Word-Up". Keep Cool. Peace Out.
