About Boudro's On The River Walk

Boudro's is nestled on the banks of the San Antonio Riverwalk in the historic Schultze/Rilling Building. This turn-of-the-century structure was constructed of limestone and features traditional hardwood floors and a handmade mesquite bar. Intimate outdoor tables line the Riverwalk. Boudro's can cater to the needs of groups, either in our restaurant or on river barges. Boudro's offers contemporary Southwestern specialties such as smoked shrimp enchiladas, blackened prime rib and fresh Gulf Coast seafood entrees. Or choose from a more traditional lineup of pecan-grilled steaks, ribs and chops. After dinner, sample one of our homemade desserts. They're positively sinful. For a dining experience that captures the true flavor of San Antonio, try Boudro's for lunch or dinner. Boudro's is on the west bank of the riverwalk between the Hilton and Hyatt Hotels.

The atmosphere by the river is so special and great to celebrate a special day. The Guacmole made at your table is the best I have ever eaten.

My family and I decided to go to this restaurant due to the recommendation of our ferry operator. I was in the mood for a hearty steak. It was advised to me that Boudros Bistro on the River had an excellent blackened prime rib. Needless to say I was intrigued. When we approached the entrance we were greeted outside by the hostess who offered indoor or outdoor seating. We chose to dine inside. The ambience inside had a very European rustic feel. It kind of reminded me of a wine cellar. I?d definitely keep it in mind for a romantic night out. We ordered the guacamole. It was prepared fresh in front of us by our waiter. Originally, I thought of it as just another novelty, but I had to say it did add to the dining experience. To my surprise again, I have to say I was impressed. Even if you don?t like guacamole, which I didn?t, you?ve just got to try theirs. It?s really that good. Now for the main course, my blackened prime rib. I have to say I wasn?t really impressed. It wasn?t bad, but certainly not as memorable as the guacamole. Maybe it was because of the high expectation that was already set out there by our ferry operator, but I wasn?t kind of let down. All and all, I?d still recommend Boudros Bistro on the River. I?d probably try a different main dish next time, but would definitely return.

Best Steak and Tuna!

Wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Boudros on the Riverwalk. They have a very interesting menu with good variety in tastes and price. The Black Angus Filet Mignon was the best I've had on the Riverwalk yet. I could almost cut it with my fork. Cooked to order, medium/rare, it was tasty and the veggies were great too. Bride had the Seared White Fin Tuna. It was so tender and soft, it almost melted in your mouth. The way it was prepared made it especially tasty as well. We had the Guacamole, which is made fresh table side, as an appetizer and it was delicious too. The service was efficient, courteous and attentive without being over the top. We had reservations on a Monday night, and it is certainly a good idea at a popular restaurant like this. It is not cheap but you don't go for your lungs either. The wine selections are interesting as are the desserts. The only draw back to the entire experience, we should have sat outside at Riverside. It gets a little noisy inside. Opt for that, weather permitting.

Best on the River

My wife and I spent a wonderful anniversary on the river on a Saturday evening back in mid April. I knew we would have to wait since the place is not very big. The wait was only an hour so we just went to another restaurant just down the way and had drinks till our hour was up. He had the guacamole for two to start off with with a few beers. They both were great!.. beers were ice cold and we could not stop eating the guacamole Our waittress was very pleasent had given us just enough attention to make sure our drinks were never empty. We had the blackened prime rib which was very tasty and cooked just right. I would reccommend Boudro's to anyone over one of the chain steak restaurants you can go to one of those next time your are in Arlington or Waco.
